I am Dr. Samir Kumar Ray, a Consultant Gynaecologist and Obstetrician with over 40 years of experience in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. My career has spanned across reputed hospitals in India and the United Kingdom, giving me broad international exposure and hands-on expertise in managing a wide spectrum of women’s health conditions.

Over the decades, I have developed a strong foundation in both routine and advanced gynaecological and obstetric care. I specialize in high-risk pregnancy management, minimally invasive surgery, and am currently expanding my surgical skills through a Robotic Surgery Training Programme, organized by the Association of Gynaecological Robotic Surgeons of India.

The thesis entitled, “Clinico-Pathological Study of Abnormal Vaginal Bleeding in Peri-Menopausal Age” was accepted for MS (Obstetrics & Gynaecology) degree in India. In South Cleveland Hospital, Middlesbrough, UK, I was involved with a research project entitled “Antepartum haemorrhage: Does it affect subsequent pregnancy outcome?” I presented this work as poster at perinatology conference in Croatia in 1998. At present, I am very much involved with departmental audits.
I participated in the clinical teaching programmes for undergraduate students and seminars, case presentations and journal clubs for postgraduates at R G Kar Medical College, Calcutta. I was co-ordinator of the teaching programme for the junior doctors at Hartlepool General Hospital and also involved in clinical teaching of medical students from Newcastle and Cardiff University UK. I was involved in post-graduate teaching for DNB (Diplomate National Board) students in our Institution. I am an approved teacher in National Board of Examination (NBE), New Delhi India.
As Resident Medical Officer in different hospital in India from August 1991 to December 1995, I had major administrative responsibility for ensuring the duty roster for junior staff, supervise discharge letter and prepare audit meetings. I also made duty roster for junior medical staff during my registrar job in Hartlepool General Hospital, UK.
I am well conversant with modern computer technology like Microsoft word, power point and use of internet.
